Reaching for the Rainbow: Reflections on Music, Colour, and Neurodiversity
May 29, 2026
I was recently honoured to sit down with the team at Adelaide UNESCO City of Music to share my story for their latest feature profile, "Reaching for the Rainbow." You can read the original feature directly on their website here:
The conversation was a wonderful opportunity to look back on my journey as a classical musician, and to speak openly about how my experience of the world is shaped by chromaesthesia—a form of synaesthesia where sound and colour are inextricably linked.
For much of my career, navigating the intense world of professional music while processing sensory input in this way was something I kept quite private. Now, as I focus my path toward neurodiversity advocacy and exploring how immersive sound can support unique minds, sharing these experiences feels more vital than ever.
The feature delves into my background, the reality of visualising sound, and what it means to create space for different ways of thinking. I am incredibly grateful to Adelaide City of Music for helping to amplify this conversation.
